About this service

Laundry service that actually finishes the job

Center City · Rittenhouse · Fishtown · Northern Liberties · Queen Village · South Philly · University City · Old City · Fairmount · West Philly · Mount Airy

Searching for wash-and-fold laundry service in Philadelphia? You want someone who treats your clothes with care — and who finishes the job instead of leaving it in a basket. Since 2021, Hometress has folded laundry into the rhythm of homes across Center City, South Philly, Fishtown, and University City — the chore that never ends, finally off your list.

Wash-and-fold is more than a machine cycle: delicates and hand-wash items get the right temperature and cycle, whites and colors separated, stains pre-treated before they set, and everything folded (or hung) the way you like it. Pet-hair lint-rolled, socks paired, and put away on request — so you come back to clothes ready to wear, not a pile on the bed. Every cleaner handling your laundry is background-checked, and Hometress carries general liability insurance that may cover damage from a cleaner's negligence.

The whole laundry cycle, finished

A bag of laundry is not done when the dryer stops. The useful part is the sequence: sort with care, wash by label, then finish each piece for the drawer or closet.

  • Sort the loadWhites, colors, and delicates are separated, with stains flagged for pre-treatment before the wash begins.
  • Follow the labelThe right temperature and cycle are used for each load; hand-wash pieces get hand-washed, and items that call for it are laid flat to dry.
  • Finish the basketClothes are folded or hung to your preference, socks paired, pet hair lint-rolled, and everything put away on request.

Representative review

I pointed out two sweaters with care labels, and both were laid flat to dry. The rest was folded by drawer, which made put-away quick.

The dark clothes usually collect pet hair. This time they were lint-rolled, the socks were paired, and there wasn't a clean pile waiting on the bed.

Representative review

I asked for shirts on hangers and towels folded for the linen closet. Everything was finished that way, and the stain I pointed out was pre-treated before washing.

The full cycle

From basket to drawer

Each load moves through a careful sequence shaped by its fabrics, labels, and finish.

  1. The sort

Whites, colors, and delicates are separated, while stains are pre-treated before washing.

  2. The wash

Each load gets the right temperature and cycle, with silks, wool, lace, and structured pieces hand-washed when needed.

  3. The dry

Clothes are dried normally or laid flat when the care label calls for it.

  4. The finish

Items are folded or hung the way you prefer, with socks paired and pet hair lint-rolled.

  5. The put-away

On request, finished laundry returns to the closet, dresser, or linen closet instead of another basket.

How is wash-and-fold laundry priced?

Wash-and-fold uses the Standard booking price, starting at $170. The total is based on the home and clean you select, not a separate per-pound or per-bag rate, and appears before you confirm.

Do you wash delicates and hand-wash items?

Yes. Tell us what's delicate — silks, wool, lace, structured pieces — and we run the gentle cycle or hand-wash, at the right temperature, and lay flat to dry when the label says so. We treat your clothes the way you would, not as a generic hot load.

Can you put the laundry away, not just fold it?

Yes — put-away is part of the job on request. Folded (or hung) and placed in the closet, dresser, or linen closet the way you like. Tell us where things go and we'll finish it, so you come back to laundry done, not a folded pile on the bed.

Can I add laundry to a regular cleaning visit?

Absolutely — that's how most clients use it. Fold wash-and-fold into a weekly or bi-weekly regular clean and your cleaner handles the basket on every visit, so it never piles up. The Standard booking flow shows the complete visit price before you confirm.

Do you bring supplies and products?

Yes. Your cleaner arrives with professional equipment and eco-friendly, people- and pet-safe products. Have allergies or a product you'd rather we use — or avoid? Tell us and we'll honor it.

How much does wash-and-fold laundry service cost in Philadelphia?

Wash-and-fold laundry service starts at $170 through the Standard booking flow. The flat, all-in total is shown before you confirm and is based on the home and clean you select, not a separate per-bag price. Bulky bedding or comforters should be identified when you book so the scope is clear.

Do I need to be home during the laundry service?

No. You can be home if you want to point out preferences, or arrange access before the visit and return to finished laundry. Leave the bag where it is easy to identify and share where folded or hung pieces should go if you want put-away. Keep anything you do not want washed separate, especially delicate or sentimental pieces that need special handling.

What should I tell my cleaner before the wash starts?

Call out delicates, hand-wash pieces, stains, and anything that should be laid flat to dry before the laundry starts. It also helps to say whether you prefer items folded or hung and where they belong if you request put-away. Whites, colors, and delicates are sorted; stains are pre-treated; socks are paired; and pet hair can be lint-rolled from dark clothing.

How are cleaners vetted for in-home laundry service?

Every Hometress cleaner is background-checked, and Hometress carries general liability insurance that may cover damage from a cleaner's negligence. That standard applies to laundry visits as well as cleaning visits, so the person handling your clothes has already passed the same vetting process. If something about the completed service is not right, report it within 48 hours and Hometress will make it right.

What if I'm not happy with the clean?

Tell us within 48 hours. We review the concern and make it right — a free re-clean of the affected area, or a credit or refund on that portion. That's the White Glove Guarantee.
