FAQ

Everything you'd ask before you book.

Booking, pricing, what's included, the people we send, where we clean, and the guarantee behind it all. If your question isn't here, a real person is one message away.

Booking

Getting your first reset on the calendar.

How do I book a cleaning?

Tell us about your home — bedrooms, bathrooms, and the kind of reset you want — and pick a time. It takes about a minute and you'll see your full price before you confirm. No quote, no phone call required.

How far in advance should I book?

Start a booking and the calendar shows the dates and windows actually open for your ZIP — that check takes about a minute. Recurring plans hold your preferred day and time so you never have to rebook.

Can I request the same cleaner each visit?

On recurring plans, yes — we prefer to send the cleaner who already knows your home. For one-time resets we match you with the best-fit vetted cleaner available for your slot.

Do I need to be home during the cleaning?

No. Many customers leave entry instructions or a lockbox/smart-lock code at booking. If you'd rather be home, that's completely fine too.

Pricing

What you pay, and what's never a surprise.

How does pricing work?

Pricing is upfront and all-in, based on your home's size and the type of reset. You see the exact total before you book — no surge pricing, no hidden add-ons, no surprise at the door.

Are supplies and equipment included?

Yes. Professional, eco-friendly products and equipment come standard with every visit. There's nothing for you to stock or provide.

Is tipping expected?

Tipping is never required or expected — your price is complete on its own. If you'd like to recognize a great clean, tipping is welcome and goes entirely to your cleaner.

Do recurring plans cost less?

Yes. Weekly, bi-weekly, and monthly plans are priced below one-time visits, and they hold your preferred day and time. You can pause or change your cadence anytime.

What's included

What a Hometress reset actually covers.

What's the difference between a standard and a deep reset?

A standard reset maintains an already-cared-for home — kitchens, bathrooms, floors, and surfaces. A deep reset goes further: baseboards, build-up, inside appliances, and the spots that get skipped between deep cleans. First visits often start with a deep reset.

What does a clean include?

Every reset covers kitchens, bathrooms, bedrooms, and living areas — dusting, surfaces, floors, sinks, mirrors, and trash. Add-ons like inside-fridge, inside-oven, and interior windows can be selected at booking.

Do you bring eco-friendly products?

Yes — plant-based, low-fragrance products and HEPA-filter equipment are the default on every reset, not an upsell. Have a sensitivity or a preferred product? Note it at booking.

Cleaners & trust

Who enters your home, and why you can trust them.

Are your cleaners background-checked?

Yes. Hometress works with background-checked independent cleaning professionals, held to the same standard on the first visit and the fiftieth. They're vetted local pros, not algorithm-matched strangers.

Is the work insured?

Hometress carries general liability insurance that may cover damage resulting directly from a cleaner's negligence during your service — the exclusions and the claim process are in Section 5.5 of our Terms. Separately, the White Glove Guarantee backs the quality of the work itself.

How are cleaners trained?

Cleaners work one Hometress method — the same checklist and products in every home — so quality doesn't depend on who showed up. The booked checklist is the standard, and if something on it was missed, the White Glove Guarantee is how it gets reviewed.

Service areas

Where Hometress cleans today.

Which cities do you serve?

Philadelphia is our current service territory. Chicago and Seattle are opening markets — we publish neighborhood guides there while coverage is still being built. The fastest way to check any address is to start a booking: the ZIP check tells you straight away whether we can clean it today.

Do you cover my neighborhood?

Hometress's booking form checks current service availability by ZIP before payment, so your address confirms itself in about a minute. Philadelphia is our established market; Chicago and Seattle are growing.

Changes & guarantee

Rescheduling, cancellations, and our promise.

Can I reschedule or cancel?

Yes — reschedule or cancel from your booking anytime. Rescheduling is free. For a cancellation, what it costs depends on notice: more than 48 hours, no cancellation fee (your 50% deposit stays non-refundable); between 24 and 48 hours, a $75 fee to the card on file; less than 24 hours, 50% of the total original booking value. If a cleaner arrives and can't get in, that's 100% of the booking. Same-day bookings are paid in full upfront and aren't refundable once a cleaner is assigned — though if we can't provide the service, you get a 100% refund in 3–5 business days. Read Section 2.4 of our Terms

What if something is missed?

Tell us and we'll make it right — that's the White Glove Guarantee. Because we vet and stand behind the people we send, fixing a missed spot is our responsibility, not a dispute between you and a stranger.

What's your satisfaction guarantee?

If a reset doesn't meet our one standard, reach out within the guarantee window and we'll re-clean the area at no charge. The whole model exists so you don't have to manage the quality yourself.
