Skip, Pause or Stretch a Recurring Cleaning in Philadelphia

If your budget is tighter than it was when you started a recurring cleaning, you do not have to cancel it to spend less. In Philadelphia you have three real moves: skip a single visit, stretch the rhythm (every 2 weeks to every 4 weeks, say), or end the plan. They cost different amounts, and what you pay depends mostly on how much notice you give. This guide lays our published numbers side by side for a 3 bed, 1.5 bath rowhome, so you can see what each choice does to one visit and to a whole year.

Everything below comes from pages we publish: Section 2.4 of our Terms of Service, our FAQ and help center, and our Philadelphia plan pricing, all read on October 16, 2026. We describe what is published and say plainly where it is silent. If your situation is unusual, message the team and a person can look at your booking. We currently clean in Philadelphia.

The three moves, side by side

The example is a Standard clean on a 3 bed, 1.5 bath Spacious Philadelphia rowhome every 2 weeks: $211.50 per later visit after the 10% cadence discount. The first clean is $190.35 after the additional 10% offer. Figures below exclude that first-clean offer, sales tax and optional tips.

MoveWhat changesWhat it costs on the example
Move one visit to another daySame plan, new dateRescheduling is free
Cancel one visit, more than 48 hours aheadThat visit does not happen; the plan carries onNo fee; the illustrative visit-price saving is $211.50
Cancel one visit, 24 to 48 hours aheadSameA $75 fee leaves $136.50 of the illustrative visit price
Cancel one visit, under 24 hours aheadSame50% of the original booking total; on an illustrative $211.50 total, fee and saving are each $105.75
Stretch to every 4 weeks13 visits a year instead of 26$223.25 every 4 weeks versus $211.50 every 2 weeks
End the planBack to one-time pricesOne-time visits are $235 before any first-clean offer and tax

Two of these cost nothing when you do them early. The paid ones are a notice problem, not a pricing problem: the sooner you tell us, the less a change costs.

Skipping one visit: what our terms say

Our FAQ answers the question in one line: message or call us, "and we'll move or cancel your visit. Rescheduling is free." What the Terms do not have is a separate rule for skipping one recurring visit. Section 2.4 gives one schedule for cancelling an advance booking, and a visit already on your calendar days ahead is one. So read a skip as a cancellation of that single visit and plan around the notice tiers. The help center puts it the same way: "You can cancel any upcoming clean from your bookings. What it costs depends on how much notice you give."

More than 48 hours ahead

"No cancellation fee is charged, and any authorization hold is released." For a booking made in advance, nothing is charged when you book: your card is saved, and a temporary hold goes on it a few days before the visit, or right away if the visit is sooner. Your bank may take a few business days to clear a released hold from your statement. On the example, skipping one visit this way saves the whole $211.50.

24 to 48 hours ahead

A $75 cancellation fee is charged to the card on file. On an illustrative $211.50 original total, that leaves $136.50. Percentage fees use your actual original booking total, including tax; this is an illustration.

Under 24 hours ahead

The fee is 50% of the total original booking value. On an illustrative $211.50 total, the fee and saving are each $105.75. Percentage fees use your actual original booking total, including tax; this is an illustration.

The skip that costs the most

If your cleaner arrives and cannot get in because of something on your end, such as no key or being locked out, the fee is 100% of the booking value. Telling us ahead always costs less than that. Same-day bookings follow their own rule in Section 2.4(B); this guide is about visits on a plan's calendar.

Stretching the rhythm buys fewer visits

Our plan pages say visits can be skipped, rescheduled or paused, and that the plan can move to another rhythm. They add one sentence that does the work here: "The price follows the plan you are on." Our FAQ says "You can pause or change your cadence anytime." So stretching is not a cancellation. You change what the plan is, and the price changes with it.

PlanPer visitVisits a yearPer yearPer month (÷ 12)
Every 2 weeks$211.5026$211.50 × 26 = $5,499.00$458.25
Every 4 weeks$223.2513$223.25 × 13 = $2,902.25$241.85

For the 3 bedroom, 1.5 bath Spacious rowhome, later Standard visits cost $223.25 every 4 weeks, $211.50 every 2 weeks or $199.75 weekly. A 52-week budget is $2,902.25 for 13 visits, $5,499.00 for 26 visits or $10,387.00 for 52 visits, before the first-clean offer, tax and tips. On the every-2-weeks plan, the rowhome first clean is $190.35; 25 later visits at $211.50 make the first-year service budget $5,477.85. Tax and tips are separate. biweekly cleaning cost per year in Philadelphia

Stretching has two honest costs. The first is that a four-week gap leaves more to do than a two-week gap. If the home needs more than a Standard visit when the cleaner comes back, our Deep-clean-first comparison shows what a reset costs and what it does to the year. The second is that nothing we publish promises you the same cleaner after you change the rhythm. For recurring plans the help center says "we prefer to send the cleaner who already knows your home, and that's the default we schedule toward." That is a preference, not a guarantee, so mention it when you change the plan.

What about a pause?

A pause is a stretch with no end date. The FAQ and the help center both say you can pause, and the help center adds that you can "pause or change the rhythm whenever you like." Neither gives a maximum length or says how a pause changes your next price, so ask the team before the next visit date instead of assuming. If you are weighing how often you should schedule a clean, our frequency guide covers how the rhythm itself affects a home.

When ending the plan is the right call

If even every 4 weeks is more than the month allows, or you are moving, ending the plan is a normal choice. The next scheduled visit follows the same notice tiers as a skip: more than 48 hours ahead and there is no fee. After that you book one-time visits when you need them, at the one-time price ($235.00 on the example home).

The rowhome is $223.25 on later every-4-weeks visits, $211.50 every 2 weeks and $199.75 weekly. A one-time visit lists at $235. Choose the visit count and scope that fit your budget; a cadence change changes both the rate and the annual visit count. every 4 weeks

A short checklist before your next visit

  1. Find the date of your next visit and count back 48 hours. That is your window for a change with no cancellation fee.
  2. If you only need a different day, reschedule from your booking. Rescheduling is free.
  3. To skip one visit, cancel that visit from your booking and note which notice tier you are in.
  4. To stretch or pause, message the team with the rhythm you want and the date it should start. Our FAQ says you can pause or change your cadence anytime.
  5. Ask for your usual cleaner. It is a preference we schedule toward, not a promise.
  6. After the change, look at your next booking's price. The price follows the plan you are on.

Questions people ask

Can I skip a house cleaning without a fee?

Yes, with more than 48 hours' notice: there is no cancellation fee and any authorization hold is released. Between 24 and 48 hours the fee is $75, and under 24 hours it is 50% of the total original booking value.

Does skipping change my price?

We do not publish a rule that re-prices the next visit after a skip. What we publish is that the price follows the plan you are on, so the rhythm you choose sets the price. If that matters to your decision, ask the team before you skip.

Can I go back to a shorter rhythm later?

The rowhome is $223.25 on later every-4-weeks visits, $211.50 every 2 weeks and $199.75 weekly. A one-time visit lists at $235. Choose the visit count and scope that fit your budget; a cadence change changes both the rate and the annual visit count.
