How Much Does Biweekly House Cleaning Cost Per Year in Philadelphia?

Most answers to "how much does biweekly house cleaning cost" give you a national range for one visit. That is the wrong unit if you are deciding whether a cleaning plan fits your budget. A plan is a year of visits, and the number that matters is what those visits add up to. Our plan pages already publish single-plan yearly totals. This comparison puts three home sizes and all three recurring rhythms together over 52 weeks, with monthly budgets and add-on costs, so you can compare the choices on one page.

What biweekly house cleaning costs per year in Philadelphia

A Hometress Standard clean every 2 weeks for a 3 bed, 1.5 bath Philadelphia rowhome is $247.50 a visit ($275 one-time price × 0.90), which comes to $6,435.00 over 26 visits a year ($247.50 × 26), or $536.25 a month on average ($6,435.00 ÷ 12). A 1 bed, 1 bath home on the same plan is $198.00 a visit and $5,148.00 a year. A 4 bed, 2.5 bath home is $297.00 a visit and $7,722.00 a year. All three figures are before sales tax, which is added at checkout, and before any tip, which is always optional.

Here is every rhythm for all three homes. Each one-time price is our Standard tier plus the bedroom, bathroom and size lines for that home: $220 is $170 Standard + $25 one bedroom + $25 one bath + $0 cozy size; $275 is $170 + $45 three bedrooms + $30 one and a half baths + $30 spacious size; $330 is $170 + $55 four bedrooms + $45 two and a half baths + $60 large size. The plan discount comes off that whole price on every visit, the first one included.

Checkout charges to the cent; whole-dollar figures are budget estimates, not checkout rounding. Our Philadelphia cost guide rounds every visit up to the next whole dollar before it multiplies, so its yearly figures run a few dollars higher than ours: $248 × 26 = $6,448 there against $247.50 × 26 = $6,435.00 here for the rowhome. Neither number is wrong. The guide rounds up for a whole-dollar pre-tax budget; checkout keeps cents and adds the tax and any extras for your booking.

Counting the visits: why every 4 weeks is 13, not 12

We count a year as 52 weeks, the same way our plan pages do. That makes the visit counts plain division: 52 ÷ 1 = 52 weekly visits, 52 ÷ 2 = 26 visits every 2 weeks, and 52 ÷ 4 = 13 visits every 4 weeks. These are calendar arithmetic, not a promise about which dates are open; your actual dates come from the booking calendar for your ZIP.

A year of every 2 weeksA 52-week budget alternates 26 visit weeks with the weeks between visits. Actual calendar-year counts depend on the start date and skips; this diagram does not promise available dates.A year of every 2 weeksThe rhythm behind the annual budget52 weeks26 visitsVisit weekBetween visitsEvery 2 weeks across a 52-week budget.Actual dates depend on your start dateand any skips.Source: Hometress plan budget, Oct 2026.A budget rhythm, not available dates.
Every 2 weeks means 26 visits in a 52-week budget. Your start date and any skips determine the dates in an actual calendar year.

The one that catches people is every 4 weeks. It is a 28-day rhythm, not a calendar month, so it fits 13 visits into a year, not 12. If you budget it as monthly, you will be one visit short. For the rowhome that gap is exactly one visit: 13 × $261.25 = $3,396.25, against the 12 × $261.25 = $3,135.00 you would get by thinking monthly, a difference of $261.25.

There is a smaller wrinkle in the other direction. A calendar year is 365 days, one more than 52 weeks (two more in a leap year). If your first visit lands on January 1 (January 1 or 2 in a leap year), the rhythm has room for one extra visit before December 31: 53 weekly, 27 every 2 weeks, or 14 every 4 weeks. Later start dates leave fewer visits before December 31. Actual calendar-year counts depend on your start date and any skips; the 52-week figures above are a full-year budget, not a count for a partial year.

What the plan discount is worth over a year

The discount is a percentage of the whole visit, rooms and size included, so it is worth more on a bigger home and on a tighter rhythm. Here is the rowhome, comparing each plan with booking the same number of visits one at a time at the $275 one-time price.

RhythmSame visits, one at a timeOn the planSaved per visitSaved per year
Weekly52 × $275 = $14,300.00$12,155.00$275 × 15% = $41.25 a visit$41.25 × 52 = $2,145.00
Every 2 weeks26 × $275 = $7,150.00$6,435.00$275 × 10% = $27.50 a visit$27.50 × 26 = $715.00
Every 4 weeks13 × $275 = $3,575.00$3,396.25$275 × 5% = $13.75 a visit$13.75 × 13 = $178.75

Every 2 weeks on the rowhome is $715.00 less over the year than booking 26 single visits ($7,150.00 − $6,435.00). On the 4 bed, 2.5 bath home the same plan saves $33.00 a visit ($330 × 10%), so $858.00 a year ($33.00 × 26). On the 1 bed, 1 bath home it saves $22.00 a visit ($220 × 10%), so $572.00 a year ($22.00 × 26).

Your first year: the first-clean offer

Plans get the plan discount from the very first visit. On top of that, as of October 7, 2026, our every-2-weeks plan page shows a published first-clean offer of up to 10% off, applied after the plan discount, and prices the rowhome's first visit at $223. At 10%, that first visit works out like this:

  • Plan rate: $275 × 0.90 = $247.50
  • First-clean offer: $247.50 × 10% = $24.75 off
  • First visit: $247.50 − $24.75 = $222.75 (the plan page rounds this up to $223)
  • Year one: $6,435.00 − $24.75 = $6,410.25, before tax and tips

From visit two on, every visit is back to $247.50. So the offer changes year one by one visit's worth of savings, not the yearly budget. Offers are set in our published catalog and can change, so treat the plan page on the day you book as the source, not this post.

Adding an extra to every visit

An add-on you keep on the plan is part of the visit's price, so the plan discount comes off it too, every visit. That makes a small extra larger over a year than it looks on one receipt. Two common examples on an every-2-weeks plan:

Add-onListed priceAfter 10% plan discountPer year (× 26)
Pet shed removal (adds about 20 minutes)$25$25 × 0.90 = $22.50$22.50 × 26 = $585.00
Laundry, wash and dry, per load (adds about 60 minutes)$20$20 × 0.90 = $18.00$18.00 × 26 = $468.00

So the rowhome with pet shed removal on every visit is $6,435.00 + $585.00 = $7,020.00 a year before tax and tips. Adding an extra on only some visits costs less: an inside-fridge clean (adds about 25 minutes) on four visits a year is 4 × ($35 × 0.90) = 4 × $31.50 = $126.00. Our line-by-line price breakdown lists every add-on and what each one prices at.

Deep instead of Standard every 2 weeks

If you want every visit to be our Deep tier rather than Standard, swap the $170 Standard base for the $255 Deep base. For the rowhome that is $255 + $45 + $30 + $30 = $360 one-time, $360 × 0.90 = $324.00 a visit, and $324.00 × 26 = $8,424.00 a year. That is $1,989.00 more than Standard on the same rhythm ($8,424.00 − $6,435.00). Our checklist describes Standard as the maintenance clean, ideal for weekly or bi-weekly upkeep on a well-maintained home, which is why the tables above use it.

What is not in these totals

  • Sales tax. It is added at checkout on the cleaning, at the rate set for our Philadelphia territory. Tips are never taxed.
  • Tips. Never required or expected. If you tip, it goes entirely to your cleaner and sits on top of these numbers.
  • Coupons and arrival-window choices. Both can move a single visit's price. The breakdown post covers how.
  • Skipped or paused visits. These totals assume every visit happens. Visits on a plan can be skipped, rescheduled or paused. How notice affects a cancelled visit is in the questions below.
From one visit to a yearA $275 one-time Standard visit becomes $247.50 every 2 weeks, $6,435.00 for 26 visits, and a $536.25 monthly budget. Questions about plan costs

Is every 4 weeks the same as monthly?

No. Every 4 weeks is a 28-day rhythm, which is 13 visits in a 52-week year (52 ÷ 4), not 12. Budget it as 13 visits and the year adds up.

Does the first visit get the plan discount?

Yes. The plan discount applies from the first visit. Any published first-clean offer comes off after it, on that first visit only.

Does the price change by neighborhood?

No. We use one price table across our Philadelphia service area; the price does not change by ZIP. What changes it is the home: bedrooms, bathrooms, size and tier.

What if I need to cancel a visit?

Rescheduling is free. For a cancellation, cost depends on notice: more than 48 hours has no fee, 24 to 48 hours is a $75 fee, and under 24 hours is 50% of the booking. Same-day bookings and lockouts have separate terms shown with your booking.
