Ridge Avenue is the central artery, and it carries every complaint locals have about congestion, trash, and construction — but it's also the strip they pass through for groceries and takeout, with the Wawa at 6701 Ridge and Dalessandro's over on Wendover. Henry Avenue forms another boundary, its long incline running down toward Manayunk and Main Street, which is why plenty of residents ride down to the shops and call a car back up. Gorgas Park anchors the family side of the neighborhood.
What sets Roxborough apart is the green edge. The Wissahickon draws hikers, runners, and dog owners into miles of shaded creek trails, and people who live near the entrances often stay for years just for that. There are only a few realistic ways in and out, so Ridge absorbs most of the pressure, and locals answer it with backstreet routes and errands timed for early morning or late evening. Our visits get scheduled the same way — around the corridor, not into it.
