A point count on a cleaning checklist sounds thorough, but the number only means something if you can read the list behind it and check that the two agree.
Ours can be checked. The Hometress checklist comes in four tiers, and they nest: Standard is 40 tasks, and Deep, Move and Dream Home each keep everything before them and add exactly 10 more. Below is every task on all four lists, word for word as our booking screen shows it, with the starting price of each tier.
What Does a 40-Point Cleaning Checklist Include?
At Hometress, the 40-point checklist is our Standard clean: 10 tasks in each of four areas, Entire House, Bathroom, Bedroom and Kitchen. The 50-, 60- and 70-point lists are not different routines. Deep is the Standard 40 plus 10 scrubbing tasks, Move adds 10 inside-the-appliance and empty-home tasks on top of Deep, and Dream Home adds 10 finishing tasks on top of Move.

The time lines are quoted from each tier's own description. We don't publish a fixed number of hours for any tier. Prices are starting points: bedrooms, bathrooms, home size and add-ons change the total, recurring plans take 5% to 15% off, and applicable tax is added. You see the full price on the booking screen before you confirm.
Why Our Point Counts Can't Drift
A point count typed by hand next to a list can quietly fall out of step with it. Ours isn't typed at all. Our booking screen and our cleaning checklist page count the lines in each list and print the result, so if a task were added or removed, the number would change on both pages at once.
That rule has already earned its keep. When we moved our printed checklist sheets into the booking system in August 2026, the Standard sheet listed its countertop line twice, which made the printed 40 only 39 distinct tasks. Rather than count the same task twice, we replaced the repeat with a genuine task, Wipe Down Door Handles and Light Switches, and every tier above Standard inherited it.
One more honest detail: a point is one task in one area, not one unique kind of task. Window sills, for example, have their own line in the Entire House, Bathroom, Bedroom and Kitchen lists, because each is separate work in a separate room. Across the Standard 40, 14 lines share their exact wording with a line in another area.
The Standard 40, Room by Room
Every tier starts here. Standard's description calls it a maintenance clean, "Ideal for weekly or bi-weekly upkeep on a well-maintained home." These are its 40 tasks, exactly as the checklist lists them.

A few things are easy to miss. Six Standard lines carry a reach limit of "(up to 9ft)". The fridge gets its front wiped, not its inside. And carpet in the kitchen list is vacuumed (Open Carpet Areas Vacuumed), not shampooed.
What Deep Adds: 10 Scrubbing Tasks (50 Points, From $255)
Deep's description opens with "Standard plus 50% more cleaning time" and names what the time goes to: toilets, tubs, sinks, stovetop and countertops deeply scrubbed, plus appliance exteriors and cabinet tops. Here are the 10 tasks it adds to the Standard 40.

5 of the 10 lines begin with "Deeply Scrub", which is the heart of this tier. The appliance line is capped at two appliances, and the common-area dusting is a 30-minute block. Baseboards aren't on the Deep list. Spot-cleaning baseboards arrives one tier up, with Move.
What Move Adds: Inside the Appliances (60 Points, From $290)
Move is "Deep plus 100% more cleaning time", and its description says it is "Built for clean-key handoffs." It adds these 10 tasks to the Deep 50.

Two lines say "(must be clear)": the fridge and the cabinets need to be emptied before their insides are cleaned, which is why this tier fits a move. Windows and interior doors are capped at six each. If you only want the oven and fridge interiors on a Standard or Deep visit, the Clean Inside Oven and Clean Inside Fridge add-ons are $35 each.
What Dream Home Adds: The Finishing Layer (70 Points, From $330)
Dream Home is "Move plus 150% more cleaning time", which its description calls "our most thorough reset." It adds these 10 tasks to the Move 60.

Two of these are also sold as add-ons on any tier, which makes the step easy to price: laundry is $20 per load as an add-on (Dream Home includes two loads), and Pet Shed Removal is $25. Note the word "Attempt" on the rust, lime and calcium line. It is an effort, not a promise that every mineral stain lifts.
What Isn't on Any of the Four Lists
None of the 70 tasks, and none of the add-ons, covers carpet shampooing, exterior windows, washing walls, the garage, or mold remediation. Dishes aren't on any list either; Wash Dishes is a $25 add-on for one sink full.
Mold is worth a direct word, because no tier includes it. The EPA mold cleanup guidance says a patch smaller than about 10 square feet is, in most cases, a job you can handle yourself. For larger growth or a lot of water damage, it points to its remediation guide and advises hiring a contractor with experience cleaning up mold.
Which Tier Should You Book?
Start from the descriptions. Standard is written for upkeep on a home that is already well maintained. Deep is "Right for first-time clients or quarterly resets." Move is for handing over keys. Dream Home is the top of the ladder. Here is what the four tiers cost for one example home: a 3-bedroom, 1.5-bath Philadelphia rowhome in our Spacious size band, booked one time. Totals are before tax.

The home-size lines are the same on every tier, so the gap between tiers is the base price alone. That makes the first step the big one: Deep adds $85 over Standard, while the next two steps add $35 and $40. On a plan, the discount comes off the whole visit. The same rowhome on Standard every two weeks is $275 less 10%, or $247.50, which checkout rounds to about $248 before tax.
Common Questions About Point Checklists
Is "40-point" just a marketing number?
No. It is the number of lines on the Standard list: 10 tasks in each of four areas. The count on our checklist page and booking screen is calculated from the list itself, so it cannot claim a task the list doesn't have.
Can I add tasks that aren't on my tier's list?
Yes. Any tier can take add-ons at booking: Clean Inside Cabinets at $30, Clean Inside Fridge at $35, Clean Inside Oven at $35, Organize Clothes Clutter (30-mins) at $30, Laundry Wash & Dry (Per Load) at $20, Pet Shed Removal at $25, Clean Interior Windows (6 Max) at $60, Sweep Finished Basement at $35, Clean Finished Basement (30-mins) at $55, Wash Dishes at $25.
Does a deep clean include the inside of the oven?
No. Deep scrubs and disinfects the stovetop and wipes down the outside of up to two major appliances. The inside of the oven is a Move task (Clean Interior & Exterior of Oven). On a Standard or Deep visit, add Clean Inside Oven for $35.
Which tier should I book for a first visit?
Deep. Its description names first-time clients directly, while Standard's is written for upkeep on a home that is already well maintained.
How do I know which tasks were done?
Check the visit against your tier's list. The checklist you book is the standard for the visit, and the booking screen links to the full list for your tier before you confirm.
